Police say what to do in case of dog poisoning
Dog poisoning is usually a prelude to other crimes.
The Roodepoort Police are urging the public to open a case if their dog is poisoned, saying that the owner of the dog should go to the police station and insist on opening a case.

“We realise that residents often don’t bother, thinking it is a pointless exercise,” said Brigadier Manala, “but by opening cases, they can help the police to identify hot spots and prevent other crimes, since dog poisonings are usually a prelude to crimes such as house-breakings and armed robberies.”
