A 26-year-old suspect was arrested after being busted with a stolen bakkie.
Patrol duties by members of West Rand Flying Squad led to a huge bust when they pulled over a suspicious-looking vehicle.
They were patrolling on William Nicole Drive in the Honeydew area when they decided to follow a white Nissan bakkie that raised their suspicion.

“They signalled the driver to pull over and on the back of the bakkie they found household items to the estimated value of R30 000. A preliminary investigation revealed that the bakkie belonged to a 59-years-old woman,” said Karen du Plessis, spokesperson for the West Rand Flying Squad and Roodepoort K9 Unit.
It was also established that all the items had been stolen during the robbery at the woman’s house.
Du Plessis added that the driver, 26, of the bakkie was arrested immediately for possession of stolen goods.
“Members took the suspect with them to the address where the robbery had taken place. There they found the woman who identified the bakkie and the household items as hers.
The victim also told the police that three others had also been involved in the robbery. At this stage their whereabouts are not known, but the investigation continues,” she explained.
Se urged the community to report all crime by calling the toll free emergency line 10111 or by contacting the nearest police station.
