Neelsie back on a bike for the first time in years
Wing Riders South Africa's Central Chapter held their monthly run on 11 February this time making the trip to the SAA Museum in Germiston with Neels van Zyl tagging along for the ride.
The Central Chapter of Wing Riders SA not only embarked on their monthly Sunday run, but this time round also treated Neels van Zyl and his mother, Alett, to a day out, free of cost.
Neelsie, as he is known affectionately, was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1998 at the age of 16 and has not been on a motorcycle since.

Neels and Alett joined the entourage at Sasol Pinehaven early on Sunday, 11 February before they proceeded to the South African Airlines (SAA) Museum in Germiston.
One of the primary objectives of the Wing Riders was to ensure Neels enjoyed his day, and that he did indeed.
Prior to the ride, national Wing Riders president, Luke Hartog, stated that they were more than happy to have Neels with them.
“We are nothing short of delighted that Neels could make it with us today, we’re just as excited as he is to see him on a motorbike again.”
Alett was also excited to be a part of the day, stating that, “We are very grateful for what they are doing for us, and we simply couldn’t wait for today.”

More than 100 riders came together at the SAA Museum where they enjoyed guided tours of the museum, but not before having breakfast at The Beer Co, which is situated adjacent to the museum.
