Pikitup not picking up in Witpoortjie

Pikitup falls behind on picking up refuse in Witpoortjie

Refuse removal in Witpoortjie has been delayed, leaving the residents very angry.

Sandy Walker said, “It’s been over a week since my waste was last collected.”

A spokesperson for Pikitup, Muzi Mkhwanzi, said, “The Witpoortjie schedules are behind, mainly because of the breakdown of trucks. This affects the pick-up timetable and causes delays. Trucks are currently undergoing maintenance and it’s only a matter of time until things go back to normal again.”

Mkhwanzi also said, “Normally there is only a day’s delay in the pick-up timetable – it’s hardly ever longer than that. If pick-ups are not done for more than a week, it’s mostly due to a strike.”

Report any issues with Pikitup on 0860 56 28 74.
