Fashion retailer in popular mall robbed

A case of business robbery is being probed at Honeydew Police Station.

 

An undisclosed amount of money and cellphones were stolen when staff at a popular retailer in Northgate Mall was held at gunpoint on 31 January.

Captain Balan Mutha, spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station confirmed a case of business robbery and said that at approximately 10.30am four to five men wielding two pistols, “… stormed into Sportscene and demanded money and valuables from the cashier.

They pointed a pistol at the cashier and stole lots of cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash.”

He added that no one was injured and no shots were fired. According to Muthan, the men fled in a black VW Polo with an unknown registration number.
