First A Re Sebetseng well supported
The next cleanup will take place in February, and the relevant information will be communicated to residents.
The first instalment of the monthly A Re Sebetseng campaign kicked of on 20 January with a cleanup on the corner of Albertina Sisulu Road and Corlett Avenue in Witpoortjie.
The councillor for Ward 71, René Benjamin, said that she was pleased with the support from residents who teamed up to clean up.
“We met on the corner of McGrath Avenue and Albertina Sisulu Road at 8am, and proceeded to the upper corner, where we started with the cleanup,” she said.
Although the councillor had to leave early to attend a dear friend’s funeral she said the team continued working. “I just wanted to give a special shout out to Mr and Mrs Cox, South Africa Against all Rape members, Tsepang, Richard Benjamin, Christopher and Chad Mostert, as well as all their colleagues who joined the team,” René said.
