Arrest of alleged robbers brings traffic to a halt

Gary Jordaan from BCI Security said his team received a message from an emergency WhatsApp group about an alleged armed robbery at the petrol station.

Traffic came to a halt shortly after 3.30pm on Hendrik Potgieter Road near Clearwater Mall when a group of suspects were stopped in the middle of the road by authority.

It is said that a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a silver BMW carrying four men allegedly involved in an armed robbery at a petrol station between Jim Fouché and Christiaan De Wet Roads was circulated.

Gary Jordaan from BCI Security said his team received a message from an emergency WhatsApp group about an alleged armed robbery at the petrol station.

“Our Tactical Response Team immediately proceeded to the location followed closely by our Operations Team, K9 units and our PRO. A total of 6 BCI vehicles responded to this priority call.”

“A BOLO was issued for a silver BMW with four allegedly armed male occupants. Our TRT members in conjunction with police managed to stop the suspect vehicle and detained the suspects on Hendrik Potgieter Road close to Clearwater Mall,” Jordaan explained.

He added that the four suspects were taken to Honeydew Police Station for further questioning and profiling.
