Final witness for state yet to testify

At about 2.20pm murder accused Marthinus Pelser entered the court from the holding cells.

Proceedings were delayed again as the State’s final witness, pathologist Gina Stewart, had notified the court that she “was running late”. Yesterday, when she did not pitch up, State Prosecutor Paseka Temeki warned that he would issue a warrant for her arrest, should she fail to attend proceedings today.

By 2.20pm she was yet to appear as she allegedly was “revising her documents”.
