National Roof Over Your Head Day

Be thankful for what you have on #NationalRoofOverYourHeadDay

3 December is National Roof Over Your Head Day and is celebrated globally.

This day was created to remind you to be thankful for what you have – starting with the roof over your head.

We have many things that we take for granted, and do not always stop to appreciate just how fortunate we are to have them, for example, the food we eat, the roof over our heads, the clothes we wear and so much more. We tend to forget that there are lots of people who don’t have these things. Some don’t even have a roof to shelter under, and have to make do with living on the street or in alleys with only cardboard boxes to protect them from the elements.

National Roof Over Your Head Day is a day to be thankful for and appreciate all you have, as well as to remember that being thankful is a better feeling than worrying about things you do not have.

Celebrate today by picking a name or two from a Christmas Giving Tree and buying the indicated gifts, or volunteer to spend some of your time at a homeless shelter, or make a donation to someone in need.
