Rudolph’s Light Scout is back!

More routes added for everyone’s enjoyment

There is no better way to celebrate the magic of Christmas than going for a drive in the neighbourhood looking for houses decorated with colourful Christmas lights.

Most of us still remember the time when the Johannesburg central business district (CBD) was decorated with beautiful lights in the spirit of Christmas. Everyone – young and old – was very excited to take a trip to see the light displays, and the excursion was probably one of the best things to do during this time of the year.

One of the beautifully decorated houses that formed part of last year’s routes.

Unfortunately, this practice has become a thing of the past. However, the tradition is making a comeback through homeowners who want to bring back the joy and excitement of Christmas. These people spend a lot of time decorating their houses and gardens with amazing Christmas displays, ensuring the Christmas spirit is kept alive.

“We at Homescout have decided, given the success of Rudolph’s Light Scout 2016, to bring the beloved Christmas Light routes back with a bang.

Rudolph’s Light Scout 2017 will see more lit-up homes added to our routes as well as more routes in more areas added to our systems for you, your family and friends to enjoy, free of charge of course,” said Leigh Smith.

And, in an effort to make the whole experience that much more enjoyable, there will also be a competition with fabulous prizes to be won by both the home decorator and the light scouters. “Our draw will take place on 27 December and winners will be announced on our Facebook page (@homescouthq),” Leigh said.
