Suspects abandon getaway car on targeted property
Before the perpetrators could flee with the stolen goods, security personnel were dispatched to prevent the crime.
Two suspects ran out of options and decided abandoned their getaway car on the property they were targeting in Randpark Ridge on 23 November.
The swift reaction of local security companies area left the perpetrators with no choice but to flee on foot after failing in their attempt to rob a house.
The incident happened in broad daylight. The perpetrators allegedly derailed the gate and gained entry to the property, but before they could flee with the stolen goods, security personnel were dispatched to prevent the crime.

Shortly after deserting their vehicle, a white Suzuki, on the property, one of the suspects was nabbed. “While we were at the scene, we were given a description of the suspects. A little later, while driving towards a church in the area, I saw a guy wearing clothes that fitted the description given by the complainants,” said Norman Mphilo, EC Security reaction manager.
Norman added that he contacted CSS Security and Londoza Security for identity verification. “Londoza Security took the suspect to the scene of the attempted crime where the complainant’s gardener confirmed that he was one of the perpetrators,” he explained.
