Tow-truck tyranny – unexpected twist in Vance case
Family say they are disappointed.
Johnny Vance who was assaulted by Rudi Steynberg, Stevie Nel and Wilhelmpie Nel on 19 October, has withdrawn the case against the three men.

This regardless of the fact that Johnny initially was adamant that he would not do so. According to a source, Johnny and the three accused settled the matter out of court. Johnny was given back a job at A1 Assist/ Help24, but not as a driver, as well as R100 000.
Until recently it was believed that the case would be changed from assault with the intention to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) to attempted murder.

Various insiders told the Record during its investigation into the industry that matters such as these are usually “made to go away” by settling out of court.
