Roodepoort close on Gauteng murder capital’s heels
6.7 per cent hike in murders in province.
Residents of Roodepoort should be gravely concerned about the murder statistics that were released yesterday (14 November) by the Provincial Police Commissioner, Deliwe de Lange.
According to the statistics, Ivory Park is now the murder capital of Gauteng with 120 people murdered between April 2016 and April 2017, and Roodepoort is in a close second position with 88 cases.

There has also been a 6,7 per cent hike in the number of murders in Gauteng, resulting in 4 101 cases from April 2016 to April 2017.
