National Cappuccino Day
Enjoy a delicious hot cuppa on #NationalCappuccinoDay
National Cappuccino Day is observed annually on 8 November and is the perfect opportunity to meet with friends and enjoy a creamy cuppa.
Cappuccino – traditionally prepared with espresso, hot milk and steamed foam – is an Italian coffee drink.
The word ‘cappuccino’ comes from the Capuchin Friars and is the diminutive form of the Italian word cappuccio, which means ‘hood’ or something covering the head. However, the popular coffee beverage’s name did not come from the hoods on the monks’ habits but from the colour of their hooded robes. The Cappuchin Friars is an Order of friars in the Catholic Church and is among the chief offshoots of the Franciscans.
