Tow-truck tyranny – Two suspects identified

Rudi Steynberg holds a senior position in the company, while the second suspect, Stevie Nel is one of his tow-truck drivers. The two handed themselves over on 24 October but were released on a warning. At that stage the charge was common assault, but it was later changed to assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH). It is expected that once the police receives the doctor’s report on the extent of Vance’s injuries, the charge will again be changed, this time to attempted murder.
Vance, who suffered a fractured skull, broken ribs, spinal injuries and a broken jaw, underwent his first reconstructive surgery on 30 October. He allegedly also has a blood clot in his brain.
