MATCH results prove readiness for high school
The duo competed against 2 452 candidates from 85 schools.
Maragon Ruimsig primary school learners Jacques Prinsloo and Matthew Ridley have been praised at the school for putting their school on the map after recently topping a national high school preparation assessment.
The school participated in the MATCH (Measuring Abilities and Thinking Competencies for High School) for the third time this year. This is an assessment written by Grade 7 Independent Examination Board (IEB) learners across the country, that truly measures the key abilities, skills and competencies deemed essential for effective learning.
“The working world needs people who can think and therefor Maragon is keeping up with bringing 21st century Core Skills into the classroom to ensure that we prepare our learners for the world of work,” said Natasha Joubert, the school’s head of marketing.
The duo competed against 2 452 candidates from 85 schools.
Teachers from all over South Africa came together at St Stithians to mark these assessments.
Natasha revealed that the duo achieved in the top three per cent in the country. She added, “This is a phenomenal achievement. Maragon also boasts with five silver and seventeen bronze certificates achieved by our learners.”
“It is encouraging to look back over the past three years and see the progress that has been made. We are looking forward to continuing along this path,” Natasha concluded.
