Self-published author talks motivation through reading
'How to hear God when He speaks' and 'Power of planning' are the two books self-published by local author and motivational speaker.
A local motivational speaker, Onkarabile Mokoto, has decided to ink his stories of motivation in a bid to keep people motivated in their homes and businesses.
The 32-year-old self-published author from North West, who currently resides in Tshepisong on the West Rand, took the decision after coming to a realisation that people needed guidance in their daily lives, and his books, How to hear God when He speaks and Power of planning, were the answers to their failures or obstacles.
Onkarabile, who ventured into the ministry after dropping out of university in 2010, discussed messages that he intends to send to his readers through his books. “The first book is a spiritual development book about teaching and guiding people to hear what God says to them,” he said.
He added, “I realised that many people are not living in God’s direction.”
Onkarabile spoke about the content of his second book, saying that it consisted of information about planning a successful life with a little bit of financial freedom.
He said the book was written as a result of a personal observation of how people lived generally. “I had to study people in general, focusing on those that are successful, but end up failing. My observation was, the ones that succeed are those who plan, and those who fail are those who lack planning abilities,” he explained.
Both books were published this year, a few months apart. The proud family man, who has a wife and daughter, explained that both books are receiving incredible reviews from bookworms. He boasted that he has received positive feedback from media personalities and the general public alike.
Both books are available at the Lifestyle Bookshop in Maponya Mall, Soweto, and Kingdom Anchored in Westgate Mall, Roodepoort.
