A cultural cuisine with Agapeland and Arrows of Destiny
A feast of flavours
Agapeland and Arrows of Destiny Christian Academy celebrated Heritage Day with a feast of flavours on their cultural cuisine themed day.
The day began with children streaming into school in clothes depicting their various cultures, carrying containers filled to the brim with food. “The idea of the day was for the children to share the food from their culture and what they eat at home,” Ashley Naidoo, the school administrator said. The older children had to present the food to their class, explaining how it was made and tell a little about the dish. “All the grades had break at the same time so that the children could walk from class to class and try the different dishes,” he said.

Everybody was delighted by the different flavours and dishes – from rotis and prego rolls to even Mopani worms. “It was definitely a successful day, which saw the children dressed up and learning about the cultures around them,” Ashley said.
