“Our offsite monitoring controllers noticed three suspects inside the parking area of Land Rover Constantia crawling towards one of the glass display room doors,” said Rudi Holtzhausen from BCI Security. They immediately dispatched one of their Tactical Response Team units to investigate.

CCTV footage revealed that by the time the suspects were ready to force open the showroom door, security personnel had arrived at the main gate.

“The suspects still had the courage to quickly force open the door and run into the building, grabbing what they could before trying to escape,” Holtzhausen explained.

BCI personnel went after the suspect and when they heard a loud bang sounding like a gunshot, they were forced to fire warning shots.

Holtzhausen further explained that in their attempt to escape, the trio managed to jump over a high wall with an electric fence facing the VW dealership.

The officers managed to arrest one of the suspects, while the other two fled to a nearby plot.

Police are investigating.
