A steady climb to the stars
Claudia Borland looks forward to new opportunities for stardom overseas.
Eleven-year-old Claudia Borland has returned from the International Applause Rising Talent Showcase (IARTS) in Orlando with brand new opportunities on the horizon.
Claudia, a talented singer, model, actor and dancer competed in the competition in July and participated in several workshops with industry professionals. As a result of all her hard work, she has been given a partial scholarship from the New York Film Academy. The plan is for her to attend their four-week acting programme in July next year, at their campus in Los Angeles.
Receiving this scholarship validates that she has what it takes and this has given her the confidence, drive and energy to continue down this road. In addition to receiving her partial scholarship she also got some agent callbacks and received an invitation from Kim Myers (International Talent Scout and Director of the ARTS) to attend the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) Hollywood in December 2018.
She will most definitely be attending ARTS next year as it does not only provide her with more experience and education, but will also provide her with international networking opportunities.
Through this year’s experience, Claudia learned that you can never stop learning, hard work reaps rewards and a support system is crucial. Therefore, she would like to thank Elsubie Verlinden and the team at Just You Model and Artist Management for all they have done to get her this far and all they are doing to get her ready for the next phase.
“We look forward to seeing how much she grows and develops in the next 18 months ahead of ARTS Hollywood,” said Claudia’s mother, Belinda.
