Theatrix Showcase a huge success
Primary school learners showcase their talent in front of an audience.
Despite the weather, primary school actors from Maragon Ruimsig, Maragon Olympus and Curro Krugersdorp got the Maragon Theatrix Showcase on the road.
The purpose of the Theatrix festival is to provide a welcoming environment where the primary school actors can explore their creative talents in a non-competitive, intimate and supportive environment.
Nobuhle Mfundi, one of the performers said, “The entire experience was fun – from the practices right to the final evening. I especially enjoyed performing to an audience.”
It also provides a platform for drama teachers and clubs to collaborate and showcase their efforts. Innovative, newly written works and pieces such as the workshop production Boxes were presented.
Tilla Tredoux, head of department of culture at Maragon said that the excitement levels were high as performers played to a full house every evening.
