Aliens visit La Salle
Learners entertained young and old during school concert
“La Salle College is proud to have once again pulled together a great show that was enjoyed by everyone,” said Mary Stacey, a teacher at the school.
Everyone attending the recent school concert at La Salle College was able to leave their troubles on earth and laugh their way through an entertaining production.
The production was titled Alien Research, and learners from Grade R to 12 participated. The audience was treated to an evening spent with Gordon Ramsay, Sherlock Holmes, The Pink Panther and the Presidents of Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United States of America, portrayed by a brilliant cast.

The ‘Alien Research Council’ kept the audience on the edge of their seats by investigating life on earth through a series of books – with every class portraying a range of different aspects, from dog training and sportsmanship, to fairy tales, political satire, cooking shows and the Yellow Pages.
The success of the production could be attributed to each individual and class that participated with enthusiasm. “Under the guidance of the ‘Head’ of the ‘Alien Research Council’, the audience was led to see themselves through different eyes, adding to the fun and sparkle of the evening,” said Mary.

The show was made even more special by the inclusion of two original mini-scripts that were written by Jose da Mota and Obakeng Makube. “These two matriculants produced brilliant scripts for which they received high praise,” Mary said.
She concluded by saying, “This is just one of the many activities we offer that allow learners to shine and become their best selves.”
