Forum seeks more public interest

Honeydew Sector 3 CPF plans to host more events in hopes of creating awareness about crime.

The Honeydew Sector 3 Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson, Carolyn Lanzillotti, has encouraged residents to participate in social events as she plans to grow the forum’s membership.

Lanzillotti was speaking during a joint crime prevention initiative which was hosted in partnership with the Honeydew Police and various security companies in the area at Retail Crossing Centre on 2 September.

She said, “We encourage more participation within the Honeydew Sector 3 CPF. We want the public to come and discuss their concerns with the CPF, police, and councillors.”

The Sector 3 acting committee also made a public appearance to introduce themselves to the community. The structure consists of Carolyn Lanzillotti (chairperson), Tony Botes (deputy chairperson), Jacqui Coetzee (secretary) Helen McDonald (deputy secretary) and Matt Haddon (public relations officer).

Lanzillotti added that she hopes to host a variety of campaigns and to have some specific mall and shopping centre pamphlet drops to raise awareness in the community.
