National Wildlife Day
Educate yourself on conservation on #NationalWildlifeDay
4 September is National Wildlife Day, a day that was created to learn more about endangered species as well as the various preservation and conservation efforts around the world.
National Wildlife Day was founded in 2005 by pet lifestyle expert and author Colleen Paige, to honour the memory of Steve Irwin, the wildlife conservationist. The purpose of this day is to create global awareness and education concerning the number of endangered animals and their need for conservation and preservation.
There are many ways to get involved and you can celebrate today by doing some research on all the different ways for you to throw your weight behind this important cause.
You can spend your day by participating in presentations on the various different conservation and preservation causes involving wildlife, or volunteer for rehabilitation services at a wildlife rehabilitation centre. Or, you can visit a zoo, aviary or marine sanctuary and find a way to get involved with wildlife-related activities.
There is always something for everyone to learn.
Create more awareness for this worthy cause by using #NationalWildlifeDay when posting on social media.
