On 2 September, you will be given the opportunity to adopt a four-legged furbaby at the Linden Market.
The Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) will be hosting their third Benji + Moon Date-a-Dog event at 45 Thomas Street, Emmerentia from 9am to 3pm.

According to Taren Welthagen, Claw Director, they were able to help 22 dogs to find loving new homes during the previous event. “We will be having 10 to 12 Clawbies (rescued dogs from Claw situated in Durban Deep Roodepoort) for you to meet and take for a walk around the market, and, if the date goes well, you can give one of them a new home,” she said.
There is an adoption fee of R650 applicable, which includes sterilisations and vaccinations.
Benji + Moon is a small artisanal range of locally handcrafted pet products that are made by talented community members and some established artisans. For every product they sell, five per cent is donated to Claw. Their range can be viewed at www.benjiandmoon.co.za.
“Come visit the market and give some love to a dog in need,” Taren concluded.
