CPF Sector 3 impressed with JMPD
JMPD thanked for not giving up on the fight against lawlessness.
Strubens Valley — The unyielding efforts made by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) in the enforcement of municipal by-laws and hosting of various awareness campaigns has been given the thumbs-up by the acting committee of the Sector 3 Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF).

The Sector 3 forum, which covers areas such as Strubens Valley, Little Falls, Wilgeheuwel and Radiokop, hailed the JMPD for hosting activities such as pedestrian awareness campaigns, removal of illegal advertising and bringing illegal taxi operators to book.

The newest addition to the forum, Matt Haddon, who holds the Public Relations portfolio, said the forum has more plans to involve the JMPD in the eradication of lawlessness.
“We have been able to remove a few illegal signs,” he said. However, he added that the challenge they now face is the destruction of private property which is rumoured to be occurring in the mobile advertisement business.
“Some people are stealing the wheels [of the trailers]. So, we are now dealing with two things – trying to prevent the destruction of property and illegal advertising,” Haddon explained.
Haddon also urged residents to attend the CPF meetings in order for the forum to become better known.
