Two ATM robbers nabbed after flat tyre
Policeman was filling up his vehicle.
Two oblivious suspects committed an armed robbery at an ATM at a BP Garage on Albertina Sisulu Road at the same time as a member of the Provincial Trio Task team was filling up his unmarked vehicle.
A petrol attendant alerted the policeman to the fact that two suspects just robbed a woman at the ATM. He then approached one of the suspects, who ran towards a VW Polo in which the other suspect was already waiting. The Trio Task Team member then fired a shot at the passenger side wheel but the suspects sped off regardless. The police officer chased after them, until they were forced, by the flat tyre, to stop on Katrol Street in Robertville.
