Water set to be restored today
Johannesburg Water technicians worked throughout the night repairing the damaged water pipe.
The water supply is expected to be fully restored to all the affected areas of Roodepoort before the end of the day, following the completion of repairs last night to the pipe that was damaged by construction workers excavating at the Nedbank site in Constantia Kloof on Saturday, 12 August.
Technicians spent the entire night welding the pipe after waiting for about two days for the water to drain out.

The incident resulted in millions of litres of water going to waste and several Roodepoort suburbs feeding from the pipe having to endure a water outage from last weekend.
Councillors whose wards were affected, including Ward 89 councillor Amelia Bester, managed to summon technicians from Johannesburg Water and Franki, the construction company, to speed up the repair process in order to alleviate the crisis.
According to Johannesburg Water, water tankers are still available in the affected areas.
