National Happiness Happens Day
Don't worry, be happy on #NationalHappinessHappensDay
“Happiness depends upon ourselves” – Aristotle.
National Happiness Happens Day is celebrated annually on 8 August.
This day was founded in 1999 by the Secret Society of Happy People as “Admit You’re Happy Day”. 8 August was chosen as it was the anniversary of the first meeting of the society in 1998.
The Secret Society of Happy People is an organisation that was founded in August 1998 to celebrate the expression of happiness. Members of this society are encouraged to recognise their happy moments and to think about their daily happiness.
They have two mottoes, namely: “Happiness happens” and “Don’t even think of raining on my parade.” The society’s main purpose is to stimulate people’s right to express their happiness.
To celebrate, be happy and feel free to express it.
