National Professional Speakers Day

Find a few speakers and attend their seminars or events on #NationalProfessionalSpeakersDay

7 August is National Professional Speakers’ Day, a day to embrace those who stand up on stage and speak about any topic – informing, educating and embracing their passions.

It could be said that this day originated when people started listening to one another. We have been a race of beings that are capable of learning for a number of centuries now, and part of that is listening to other people’s stories and taking the lessons they have learned to heart.

Maybe this is the most important part (the heart if you will) of National Professional Speakers Day – the ability for someone to impart a lesson to us with just the spoken word.

Whether it is someone talking about freeing yourself from debt; faith and the assistance gained from it; trying to teach you how to fold an origami crane, or how to disassemble a combustion engine – every last one of these speakers are helping you to learn something you did not know before.

And that is the hardest part, explaining how to do these things with just the words one speaks.

Celebrate today by finding a few speakers and attending their events or seminars. You can also get up on stage and speak about your own difficulties in a certain area and how you overcame them. Maybe you can find a speaker and thank him, or her, for their bravery and knowledge, as well as the willingness to share it.

Or apply the knowledge you have gained from listening to them. Many of them feel that is thanks enough, just knowing they could help someone better themselves in some way. The fact that they can stand in front of a crowd and speak about something they have had difficulties with, is empowering to many speakers, and this helps them to do even better.

So, go and listen to them speak and give them a big round of applause for their help!
