Now that the first edition of the Northsider that was produced in the Joburg West office has hit the streets, we would like to know what you think of the paper.

Last week was an absolute whirlwind of a week for us. Not only did the journalists, Siso Naile and Amy Ingram, have to adjust to a new office set-up, they also had to work feverishly to ensure there was good solid news for the Northsider’s website and for the paper.

Things escalated quickly during the weekend, when an attempted robbery took place at Clearwater Mall. Apparently this wasn’t the first time that specific store was hit. Fortunately nobody got hurt during the robbery.

The Northsider’s website achieved more than 15 000 pageviews after the story went live, which warms my heart. It shows that the readers in that area are eager to be kept up-to-date with the latest news.

This week we have another jam-packed edition. I am so proud of everybody who contributes to the paper to ensure that you have a valuable read.

There were one or two unfortunate hiccups during the process of getting the paper ready for print last week, for which we hope you will forgive us, as we still need to fine-tune the production process. It may take a little while, but it will come in time.

What are your views? What do you like to read? Is there someone in the community who deserves a spot in the paper? Let me know. Send your comments to roelienv@caxton.co.za.

Until next week, take care of one another.

Ciao!
