Family overwhelmed by Cody’s return
Dog survives Two Step poisoning.
A Randpark Ridge family is overwhelmed and grateful to have one of their dogs survive a poisoning incident.
The family was reunited with Cody, their beloved dog, a few days ago after she had undergone intensive treatment at a veterinary hospital.

The beloved pet managed to fight off the poison in her system after falling victim to the poison trap during a house robbery on 26 June.

Cody was the only dog to survive the poison – two others, named Tiger and Alex, died painful deaths after being rushed to a vet.
The condition of dogs was dire when the owner, Jonathan Stewart, rushed them to a local vet for treatment.

An autopsy revealed that Temik, commonly known as Two Step, a pest control chemical used by farmers, was used to poison the dogs.
Things you should know about Temik:
• The original name of the substance is Aldicarb. It now trades as Temik and is known as Two Step on the streets.
• Aldicarb or Temik is an agro-chemical used by agricultural farmers to control pests.
• The substance presents as black or grey granules. A teaspoonful can kill a human being or an animal.
• This strong poisonous pesticide is available on the streets in small packs on payment of a mere R10.
• Over the years. this substance has been used by criminals to poach animals or as a tool to silence dogs during house-breakings.
Stewart expressed his relief about Cody’s second chance to live as she recovers at home. “She is doing much better now. She’s been home for a week, but she’s still weak.”
Stewart’s little daughter, Natalie, is overjoyed by Cody’s presence. She now spends most of her spare time snuggling and playing with her animal friend.
