Crime survey to assist with plan of action for Ward 71
The residents of Ward 71 were promised solutions at a recent public safety meeting called by the councillor, René Benjamin.
The meeting was attended by members of the police, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s Events Unit and By-laws Management Unit, Emergency Management Services, private security companies (Chubb, Apcan and Bhekani Abantu), the Davidsonville Block Watch, the Davidsonville Local Drug Action Committee, The Pink Ladies organisation, the ward committee member for Public Safety, South Africa Against All Rape, the Witpoortjie Warnings Group, local taxi associations, a youth representative and some residents.
“As part of the outcome of this meeting, I have compiled a survey to determine the severity of crime in my ward, and am requesting input from the residents to assist in formulating a plan of action in conjunction with the authorities,” René said.
The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BDRDV88. Residents will need to answer a few questions in order to assist in assessing what is working in the ward, and what is not.
