Police on the lookout for armed robbery suspects and getaway vehicle
Police investigate a weekend business robbery at a petrol station in Zandspruit.
Honeydew police are working round the clock searching for a maroon VW Golf 1 with two suspects who made off with an undisclosed amount of money during an armed business robbery at a petrol station on Beyers Naude Drive near Zandspruit on 8 July.
Spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Captain Balan Muthan, confirmed that police were on the hunt for two suspects and the vehicle involved in the robbery.

“No arrests have been made so far. However, the matter is still under investigation and is being handled by the Honeydew Police detectives,” said Muthan.

“The business robbery took place at the Caltex garage on the corner of Peter Road and Beyers Naude Drive in Zandspruit. Two suspects, armed with a pistol, took an undisclosed amount of money from the till and fled the scene in their maroon Golf 1 without a registration number,” Muthan explained.
He added that no injuries were reported from the scene.
Business robberies are becoming more frequent in the Honeydew policing precinct. This incident follows on a robbery that occurred last month at Andiccio24 in Randpark Ridge where four wanted suspects held the restaurant manager and patrons hostage and escaped with money and valuables.
