JMPD K9 confiscates drugs and dagga

Three suspects were recently arrested in the Florida area by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) K9 unit.

According to a Twitter post from the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Public Safety, councillor Michael Sun, the arrests took place on 22 June at approximately 6pm.

“The K9 unit officers were conducting patrols in the Florida area, when they spotted the three suspects. The officers apprehended them and found drugs in their possession. They proceeded to arrest all three of them, one of whom turned out to be a well-known drug dealer in the area,” Sun said.

The JMPD officers confiscated approximately 342 grams of dagga and 34 grams of other drugs. The suspects were taken to the Florida Police Station where they were charged with the possession of drugs.
