MyNeighbour donates to Knysna and locals
WILGEHEUWEL – MyNeighbour hosts a one of a kind charity drive for Knysna and locals.
Locals and Knysna fire victims will be benefiting immensely after MyNeighbour, a local community forum, hosted a one-of-a-kind charity drive a week ago.
The drive follows devastating fires in Knysna which caused deaths and left residents without homes. The initiative was also localised by the forum to cater for Ward 97 displaced shack dwellers under a project called MyCupboard.

The Strubens Valley-based forum got involved with a number of shopping centres in the area which were used as collection points for the donations.
The poster child for this campaign, Helen McDonald, said she was amazed by the residents’ generosity. “The people were so generous – they donated food, clothes and clothes,” she said.
She added that small contributions meant a lot to causes.
“We had a resident in the area whose family was directly affected by the Knysna fire. This contribution means something to them. MyCupboard donations were meant for the needy people in the area,” she explained.
Mc Donald also expressed her thanks to all the role players. “I would like to send a big thank you the community and managers of shopping centres in Saverite Riverwalk, Checkers Rock Cottage and Spar Strubens Valley, she concluded.
