
It was with dismay that I encountered a woman smoking, outside of her vehicle, at a garage while refueling her vehicle.
Despite all of the signs indicating that this is prohibited (which are displayed at every garage), the individual was rather aggressive when I asked that she extinguish the cigarette, claiming she was not aware of the signage. It defies belief that she was unaware of the signage and the obvious dangers.
I would request that all garage owners ensure their staff enforce the safety rules although I have no doubt they would, in some cases, face abusive responses.
Rather the abuse than having a fuel station go up in flames …..
