
The 76-year-old man who was reported missing in Discovery on Saturday (24 June) has been found.
Chris van der Merwe was found in Walkerville, South of Johannesburg near Orange Farm. The vehicle he was driving was found on its roof and eyewitnesses said Van der Merwe may have slept at the wheel and hit an embankment.

His daughter Elize was relieved to know that her father was safe and said she is grateful to everyone who assisted in the search.
“My father is fine, although he has no recollection of the accident. I am amazed by the support we received so quickly from those who shared our social media posts and assisted us during this tough time.
We are truly relieved and grateful,” she said.
There was a frantic search for Van der Merwe who went missing on Saturday (24 June) after he had sneaked out of the home to visit his wife in hospital.
What worried his family was his poor memory and difficulty hearing, which might have put him in danger. The family searched hospitals, contacted Sanral and used various other methods to track down Van der Merwe.
