Kudos to Zandspruit soccer
ZANDSPRUIT – AEI Waste Management gives a helping hand to Football without Borders.
Football without Borders celebrated the donations and support shown by AEI Waste Management with a braai and a friendly game of soccer.
Ashkon Willcocks, director of AEI, explained when he was approached by soccer coach, Elia K Dzwowa, about the project, his first thought was to go to Sportsman’s Warehouse and get them what they needed.

Willcocks donated soccer balls, water bottles, cones, stopwatches and flags. The new friendship was celebrated with a braai and some fun in the sun on 3 June. Willcocks’ team was present on the day to interact with the children, some of whom were given rides in the waste removal trucks.
AEI supplied braai packs, as well as packed lunches and cooldrinks for the children and the team.
“I am very grateful for what Ashkon has done. He saw our vision and was eager to help. We encourage other businesses to support our project by donating equipment or books for the children,” said founder of Football without Borders, Michael Mapfunde.

He also thanked the Bravo Bakery and Butchery for the use of their grounds for the braai and soccer match. Soccer coach, Dzwowa, added he hopes this relationship is just the start of good things to come as the need for support will always be there. Dzwowa wishes to have uniforms for the children.

Football without Borders is a programme for the youth in Zandspruit to use sport, particularly soccer and boxing, to address social issues and teach life skills to children.
“These two men have good hearts to do what they do,” said Willcocks.
