National Hamburger Day
Celebrate the history of this most irresistible of sandwiches on #NationalHamburgerDay
28 May is National Hamburger Day, and was specially created to celebrate the history of this most irresistible of sandwiches.
“The man who invented the hamburger was smart; the man who invented the cheeseburger was a genius,” said Matthew McConaughey. There are very few things in this world that are more delightful than your first bite of a rich, juicy hamburger, and if you do not believe that, look at the facts. The first popular vegan faux meat was the veggie burger, because even vegetarians could not resist the taste of a delicious burger. So, they had to create an alternative just so they would not have to leave all that is good and right about the world in the past.
The invention of the hamburger has been claimed by many, but there is only one real origin – Hamburg, Germany. No matter who says they have invented the hamburger, nobody can deny that it was Germany’s second largest city that it was named for. While not all burgers resemble the meat that came out of Hamburg, they all have the roots of their preparation in this city.
Burgers are also no longer just made from beef either, today you can find turkey burgers, chicken burgers, ostrich burgers and a million other meat forms ground down and compacted into the form of a hamburger.
To celebrate today is easy. Invite some friends and family, visit your favourtie burger joint and enjoy some delicious burgers. Or, you can make your own at home.
