A head-on collision at the intersection of Gordon and Hendrik Potgieter Roads in Florida this morning (24 May), left one person critically injured.
According to ER24 paramedics, they received an emergency call at about 9.50am and upon arrival at the scene, found four vehicles standing in the middle of the intersection.
“Upon closer inspection, they saw a woman, believed to be in her 60s, lying in one of the vehicles with injuries to her head and abdomen. She was in a critical condition,” said Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24.

The paramedics carefully extricated her from the vehicle and began treatment, which involved advanced life support interventions. Once treated and stabilised, she was airlifted to a Randfontein hospital for further treatment and care.
The passengers in the other vehicles were assessed and found to have escaped injury.
The details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were also on scene for further investigation.
