Be aware when you buy goods

Clifford from Discovery writes:

I purchased goods to the value of R284 on 10 May.

When I gave my bank card for payment, I was charged R292 for the said transaction. I approached the owner for an explanation and he told me that he enforces a three per cent surcharge on sales not paid for in cash.

This practice is illegal and shoppers should be vigilant when being subjected to a surcharge.

Shoppers be aware of being scammed in this manner.
