Trinityhouse Little Falls pulled out all the stops in their production of Grease, the first major production in the school’s history.
The production included schoolchildren from Grade 8 to 12 and was the culmination of more than 130 hours of work, which took place over three months.

The directors, Joanne Brett and Joanna Klopper, explained that the school chose Grease as it is a vibrant high school story which they knew the cast and audience would enjoy. The opening night on 30 March saw a full house, with many audience members wanting the casts’ autographs during the interval.

“The cast and crew have been absolutely amazing. They have worked so hard and have exceeded all of our expectations. They have sung, danced and acted their hearts out and have set a very high standard for future productions.
“The backstage and sound and lighting crew were exceptionally professional,” the directors wrote in an email to the Roodepoort Northsider.

The school will only produce another major production every two years.
“Being a part of the Grease cast was hard work and time-consuming but definitely worth it. It was an opportunity to get to know new people and I’ve learned how to better express myself. Being a part of this process was great fun and I definitely hope to be involved in future productions,” said Simon Brits, who played the part of Kenickie.
