Baseball enthusiasts are counting down the hours until the first pitch at The National Baseball Championships (NBC) this weekend.
The competition will take place at Marks Park in Randburg from 8 April to 15 April. Teams from all participating provinces such as KwaZulu-Natal, Western and Eastern Cape will be aiming for the title in their respective age categories.
Roodepoort fans will have four players to support in the Gauteng Cobras team that will be competing. Dragon Wings Sports Club’s Simangaliso Nubunga, Ameer Sedaat and Mikaeel Jack qualified for the U/15C team and Naeem Hendricks made the U/18 team. The players booked their spots in the team when they excelled at the trials in January this year.
This is not the first time Naeem and Ameer have made the Gauteng team as they have represented the province on numerous occasions.
