According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred close to Peter Road.

B.C.I Security were first to respond and on arrival found that the bakkie had lost control and had driven close to a ditch.

“When we arrived at the scene the bystander said a big bakkie hit the bike and drove off. We then looked a kilometre down and saw that the bakkie was closer to a ditch towards Peter Road,” said Gerhard Visagie, operations manager at B.C.I.

Emergency services were called onto the scene and it was then established that the biker and vehicle driver were in fact friends.
