Laerskool Die Ruiter hosted its annual Family Day event last weekend. The purpose of the event was to provide bonding time for parents and children, as well for educators to get to know their learners. The school’s sports field was turned into a festival with families sitting on their blankets or towels surrounded by stalls and game booths for the children.

The main entertainment of the day came from the wrestlers of Honour Wrestling Association. The wrestlers proved popular with the children, providing a top notch event which included Mr Money facing off against SAPW Hardcore champion Hector Payne. The Ripper then took on The Bandit, and Dirty Jackson was meant to have a go at Big Fire afterwards – but the match turned into a really exciting tag team match with buddies Dirty Jackson and The Ripper forming a team with Hector Payne, against Mr Money, The Bandit and Big Fire.
