Thank you for your article last week “To taxi or not to taxi”, it made for interesting reading.
I wish to make an appeal to taxi drivers and the Traffic Department to do something about the taxis using the slipway from Crane Street onto Ontdekkers Road as a parking area.
The other day, I noticed some taxis using the left lane of Ontdekkers Road to double park at this place. I have also experienced taxis reversing on this slipway. All of this causes extreme danger and is a traffic hazard.
The situation was much improved for a while but has now degenerated again.
