Quellerina mom in Mrs SA semifinals

Help Mpho reach her dreams

Quellerina resident Mpho Ntontela is a Top 100 Mrs South Africa semifinalist. She is also a loving wife and a mother to a three-year-old boy. She takes her health and fitness as well as her career as project manager at a leading financial institution seriously.

When asked this week how she felt at making it to the Mrs South Africa Top 100 semifinals, she said: ‘When I heard I made the Top 100 I was overwhelmed and excited at the journey ahead. I was humbled by this opportunity – I am passionate about making a change and being a proud ambassador for our country, and building a proud legacy for my family.”

Mpho seeks to network and grow her business knowledge and acumen through the programme. She aims to add value to the lives of young girls, showing them what they can achieve in their family, career and personal lives.

“I have experienced the lonely road as a woman in what felt like a male-dominated world, feeling afraid, somewhat unworthy and unable to chase my dreams. I changed my attitude and the results were astounding. Woman are our mothers, our sisters and the leaders of the future. Having had a cervical cancer scare mid last year, I see Mrs SA and its affiliation with Cansa as a powerful way to spread the message and encourage information sharing – providing tools and facilities for all to look after their bodies, hearts and minds.”

Cansa is the Mrs South Africa official charity.

The Mrs South Africa Pageant is a woman empowerment programme that gives South Africa’s unsung superwomen a chance to get support and give back to communities.

“It’s a platform to reach a new level of success and visibility globally. This is what drove me to enter. I wanted to seize the opportunity and rise above myself, be a better version of myself. I have always had a passion for modelling and beauty. When I got married and started a family, I thought that being a mom, wife and a career woman meant I could not embrace that side of me any longer. However, the programme has proved that I could explore this passion and contribute to making a change – locally and internationally.

The Top 25 Finalists are due to be announced at the Cansa gala dinner on Friday 28 April at the Centre Court, Emperors Palace, with 1 500 guests in attendance.
