Rand Symphony Orchestra at the Roodepoort Theatre
Enjoy an afternoon filled with orchestral sounds
The Rand Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the Roodepoort Theatre on 26 March at 3.30pm.
Everyone who loves orchestra music is invited to enjoy an afternoon of excellent music. The concert will be under the baton of Carl Henn and will start off with an Overture to Luisa Miller by Giuseppe Verdi. This will be followed by the Piano Concerto no 2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff, performed by soloist Belinda de Villiers. After the interval, the orchestra will perform the Symphony 101 (popularly known as The Clock) by Joseph Haydn.
For more than 30 years the orchestra has been a vibrant contributor to bringing classical music to the community of Gauteng and comprises people who freely give of their time to teach and play music – for the love of music. Musicians are also offered the opportunity to play ensemble work and perform regularly in public concerts for their own as well as the community’s enjoyment.
Tickets for the concert cost R180 each. For more information visit www.roodepoorttheatre.com or call 011 674 1357.
