Weather update: Windy conditions for Gauteng as ex-cyclone Dineo moves over land
Residents of Gauteng can also expect mild rain with the possibility of thundershowers on Sunday.
The South African Weather Service warns of high winds and cloudy conditions in Gauteng as ex-cyclone Dineo moves over land. The tropical cyclone has been downgraded to a tropical depression after losing energy and intensity as it moved overland overnight.

SA Weather Services’ Victoria Nurse said the cyclone is heading towards Southern Zimbabwe, moving into the eastern parts of Botswana this weekend.
Residents of Gauteng can also expect mild rain with the possibly of thundershowers on Sunday. Although the storm has weakened as it moves over land, remnants of it may still be felt in parts of South Africa. Areas in Mpumalanga and Limpopo may be impacted by the storm, Nurse said. Emergency services, provincial teams and government remain on high alert and warned against crossing rivers as there is a great risk of flash flooding.
